If you want to travel by land to Santa Marta from the main cities of Colombia or if you are in neighboring municipalities, I am going to tell you how much it will cost you in tolls for category 1 vehicles, how much is the distance and the time to get there to the municipality of Santa Marta.

I am also sharing an approximate gasoline consumption on each trip, taking into account that my car registers a highway consumption of 45 kilometers per gallon and where the price of gasoline in Colombia after the pandemic is 8,600 Colombian pesos (it would be about 2.2 dollars).

For this route you will have to pay 11 tolls in total, three in the department of Cundinamarca, 3 in Santander Colombia, 4 in Bolívar, and 1 in Magdalena. The sum of the value of all is 116,700 Colombian pesos where the average price per toll is $10,609. For this journey, gasoline consumption is around 21.2 gallons for a total average cost of 182,129 Colombian pesos. So if you are going to travel by car from Bogotá to the capital Santa Marta, the total cost of transportation is $298,829, which would be about 74.71 dollars.

How many tolls are there on the route from Medellín to Santa Marta

There are 11 tolls from Medellín to Santa Marta, three in the department of Antioquia, 3 in Santander Colombia, 4 in Bolívar, and 1 in Magdalena. The sum of the value of all is 112,700 Colombian pesos for an average price of $10,245 per toll. The time is 13 hours and 55 minutes of travel where you travel a distance of 828 kilometers. The consumption for my vehicle was 18.4 gallons of gasoline and a total cost of 158,240 Colombian pesos of fuel. So if you are going to travel by road from Medellín to the city of Santa Marta, the total cost of transportation is $270,940, which would be about $67.74 USD.

How many tolls are there to Santa Marta from Cartagena

For the road journey from Cartagena to the capital of Magdalena there are 5 tolls, 1 in the department of Bolívar, 2 in the Atlantic, and 2 in the department of Magdalena. The sum of the value of all is 55,700 Colombian pesos for an average price of $11,140 for each one. The distance is 226.4 kilometers and the average travel time is 4 hours and 21 minutes. Regarding consumption, you can use 5 gallons of gasoline (remember that my car consumes 45 kilometers per gallon) for a total cost of 43,268 Colombian pesos. So if you are going to travel from Cartagena to Santa Marta by land, the total transportation cost is $98,968, which would be about USD 24.74. To get by road from Cali to Santa Marta there are 1,212 kilometers, a 20-hour trip, and 16 tolls in total, 4 in the department of Valle del Cauca, 1 in Risaralda, 2 in Caldas, 1 in Cundinamarca, 3 in Santander Colombia, 4 in Bolívar and 1 in Magdalena. The sum of all is 168,600 Colombian pesos where the average price per toll is $10,538. Regarding consumption up to the capital of the department, it is 26.9 gallons of gasoline for a total cost of 231,627 Colombian pesos (27.7 dollars). The sum of the value of all is 142,600 Colombian pesos for an average price of $10,969 per toll. The time of the entire trip is 16 hours and 57 minutes from where you travel a distance of 1115 kilometers. The consumption is 24.8 gallons of gasoline for a cost of 213,089 Colombian pesos. So if you are going to travel from Neiva to Santa Marta by land, the total transportation cost is $355,689, which would be about $88.92 USD.
