Isla Palma has become the obligatory destination of the San Bernardo Islands. You will find calm white sand beaches, a sea surrounded by coral reefs, and an ecological reserve of swamps, mangroves, pink flamingos, monkeys, and birds. At the other end is the Isla Palma hotel, which is in charge of taking care of the place.

To get to know this paradisiacal island, you can stay at the hotel or pay for a day pass to do activities such as diving, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking through the reserve, or simply relaxing on the beach with hammocks or beds to enjoy the tranquility of the place.

To get to Isla Palma from Tolú you must make a connection by boat from the Tolú tourist pier. The boats leave at 8:30 am and several yacht club options can provide you with this service. The value per trip is 60,000 Colombian pesos (15.7 dollars) per person and the arrival time is 45 minutes. The departure of the boats for the return is at 3:30 pm and has the same cost as before.

If you are in the heroic, to get to Isla Palma from Cartagena de Indias you must make a connection by boat from La Bodeguita pier. You must take a boat that goes to the "House in the Water" where the value per trip is 100,000 Colombian pesos (26.3 dollars) and then you must transfer to a second boat that will take you to the Hotel Isla Palma for a value of 40,000 Colombian pesos (10.5 dollars). The boats leave at 8:30 a.m. and the approximate time of arrival at the hotel is at 12:15 p.m. due to the stop that is made at the Casa en el Agua. The departure of the boats to return to Cartagena is at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. depending on your stay and has the same cost as before.

If you go from Cartagena we do not recommend the day pass or staying for a day because the travel times are very long and in the end, you do not enjoy the place very much. But if you only have one day to get to know the white beach islands near Cartagena, then we recommend you better do the excursion to the Rosario Islands.
