Inside the Walled City, there are most of the tourist sites of Cartagena; Some that we recommend you visit are the San Pedro Claver Church, the Santo Domingo Baluarte, the Bolívar Park, the Plaza de Los Coches, the Naval Museum, the Heredia Theater and the Christopher Columbus monument among many more.

To tour the Walled City you must go to the Clock Tower, it is the only entrance that was armored to protect the city from attacks by English and French pirates and corsairs. They knew about the riches of the Spanish crown that was kept there since the nobles and important people lived in the city during the Colonial period.

After entering the city, the tour continues by visiting the sweets portal, which is a small business that has more than 50 years of tradition. Continue walking to the Plaza de la Aduana where the mayor's office is located and a few meters away from the Plaza de San Pedro Claver, whose attraction is a collection of statues that represent the different trades of the city.

In the afternoon you can sit in La Plaza de Bolívar, where a local dance group performs from late afternoon until very late at night, and then visit La Plaza de Santo Domingo because there you can find a wide variety of restaurants to drink coffee.

The Walled City at night is very romantic, you can walk the streets with your partner in a float in which they give you a tour for a value of 60,000 Colombian pesos (20 dollars). Then you can dine in the restaurants located in the bastions to have a view of the whole city.

In the streets of the Walled City is where the "Palenqueras de Cartagena" is located. They are those beautiful women dressed in typical Caribbean costumes full of rainbows that tourists like to take a picture with. They are part of Cartagena's tourism, and that's why they ask you for a contribution in exchange for the photo, don't go paying more than 15,000 Colombian pesos (4 dollars).
