To get to Islas del Rosario from Cartagena de Indias you can only do it by sea, where most of them are 45 km from the bay of Cartagena. You must go to the La Bodeguita pier, which is the pier that is 3 minutes from the Clock Tower, to take a boat but first, you must buy the ticket directly at the ticket office of the pier. There are different options to choose from; You can take a tour where they take you to see several islands that make up the Corales del Rosario Natural Park and take you to a part of the sea where you can snorkel. The cost of the ticket is 35,000 Colombian pesos (9.2 dollars). The Aquarium activity has a value of $30,000 that includes snorkeling for 1 hour.

Another option to visit the Rosario Islands is to buy a day pass to spend the whole day on one of the islands, but if you are going to take this option, we recommend that you ask carefully about the type of island you are going to because although They are all very beautiful, there are some in which the environment is better to go with your partner, others are better for single men and women, and in others, it is better to go to enjoy with the family. Each island has a different value for the one-day tour because in each one there are hotels with restaurant service but the tour includes everything, but the minimum price is 70,000 Colombian pesos (18.2 dollars).

Keep in mind that the one-day tour boats have a departure time from the pier at 8:00 am to arrive at Islas del Rosario before 9 in the morning, so We recommend being there half an hour before because at the dock you must pay the tax to enter the island, which has a value of 16,500 Colombian pesos (3 dollars). The return time by boat for all the islands is at three in the afternoon because that is when the tide is not strong.

If the time to be in the Rosario Islands seems too short once you have arrived, you can also find accommodation in the hotels of the islands of the park. There are accommodation options such as rooms, cabin rentals, or shared rooms. If you are going to spend the night on one of the islands we recommend Laguna Encantada because you can snorkel at night and see the plankton glow.
