Chocó is a department characterized by having 5 subregions, which comprise a population of 534,826 inhabitants in 30 municipalities and where half of its population resides in the region of the equatorial calms on the right bank of the Atrato river, which is where it is located. its capital Quibdó.

Chocó is the only Colombian department with coasts on the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, and it is the only one that borders Panama. Its traditional gastronomy is fried fish accompanied by rice with coconut, patacones, and hogao.

Nuquí has its festivals such as the Fiesta del Tamborito between January 5 and 6, the Migration Festival from August 22 to September 22, and the Virgen del Carmen festival in July. Capurganá is one of the smallest towns in Chocó. It is also a car-free town and, unlike other towns in Chocó, its coast belongs to the Caribbean Sea of Colombia and not to the Pacific Ocean.

It is located in the north of the department near the border with Panama and within the Gulf of Urabá, which is why its climate is hot but every month is very rainy with temperatures between 24°C and 31°C. Capurganá is a town that stands out for its abundant diving sites, its calm bays with dense jungles behind it, and it is a destination that can only be accessed by air and sea.

Capurganá as one of the towns to visit in Chocó has its festivals, so a good date to go in for the Cigua Festival in October and the Caribbean Carnival at the end of February and beginning of March.< /p>
