How much money goes in tolls and gasoline to Cartagena: Hours and Km

If you want to travel by land to Cartagena from the main cities of Colombia or if you are in neighboring municipalities, I am going to tell you how much tolls will cost for category 1 vehicles, how much the distance and the time to get to the municipality of Cartagena.

I am also sharing an approximate gasoline consumption on each trip taking into account that my car registers a highway consumption of 45 kilometers per gallon and where the price of gasoline in Colombia after of the pandemic is 8,600 Colombian pesos (it would be about 2.2 dollars).

And if you plan to visit the most beautiful tourist sites in the city, then I recommend you do some of these tours within Cartagena.

Tolls, distance, and time from Bogotá to Cartagena

To get by road from Bogotá to the city of Cartagena there are 1038 kilometers, 18 hours and 34 minutes of travel and 12 tolls in total; 3 tolls in the department of Cundinamarca, 3 in Santander Colombia, 3 in César, 2 in Magdalena and 1 in Bolívar. The sum of all is 126,700 Colombian pesos where the average price per toll is $10,558. Regarding consumption up to the capital Cartagena, it is 23 gallons of gasoline for a total cost of 197,800 Colombian pesos. So if you go by car to Cartagena from Bogotá, the total transportation cost is $324,500, which would be about 81 dollars.

How many tolls are there from Medellín to Cartagena

If you travel from Medellín to the city of Cartagena you will have to travel a distance of 630 kilometers in 12 hours and 29 minutes. This route has 10 tolls in total; 6 tolls in the department of Antioquia, 1 in Córdoba, 2 in Sucre, and 1 in the department of Bolívar. The sum of all is 107,000 Colombian pesos where the average price per toll is $10,700. For this journey, gasoline consumption is 14 gallons for a total average cost of 120,400 Colombian pesos. Thus, if you are going to travel from Medellín to Cartagena de Indias by car, the total transportation cost is $227,400 (USD 57).

Tolls from Manizales to the capital of Bolívar

To get to Cartagena by car from Manizales you must go through 13 tolls; 2 tolls in the department of Caldas, 7 tolls in Antioquia, 1 in Córdoba, 2 in Sucre, and 1 in the department of Bolívar. The sum of the value of all is 136,400 Colombian pesos for an average price of $10,492 per toll. The time of the entire trip is 17 hours and 48 minutes from which you travel a distance of 855 kilometers. The consumption is 19 gallons of gasoline for a cost of 163,400 Colombian pesos. So if you are going to travel from Manizales to the city of Cartagena by land, the total transportation cost is $299,800, which would be about $75 USD.

If you travel from Pereira you will find 14 tolls to La Heróica; 1 toll in the department of Risaralda, 2 tolls in Caldas, 7 tolls in Antioquia, 1 in Córdoba, 2 in Sucre and 1 in the department of Bolívar. The sum of the value of all is 149,200 Colombian pesos for an average price of $10,657 for each one. The distance of the road is 872 kilometers and the time to travel it is 18 hours. Gasoline consumption is 19 gallons from Pereira for a total cost of 163,400 Colombian pesos. So if you are going to travel from Pereira to the capital of the department by land, the total cost of transportation is $312,600, which would be about 78 dollars.

How many tolls are there from Ibagué to Cartagena

To get to the municipality of Cartagena traveling from Ibagué by private car, you will have to travel a distance of 1039 kilometers in 18 hours with a 4-minute walk. For this route you will have to pay 11 tolls in total; 1 toll in the department of Tolima, 1 toll in the department of Cundinamarca, 3 in Santander Colombia, 3 in César, 2 in Magdalena, and 1 in Bolívar. The sum of the value of all is 115,800 Colombian pesos where the average price per toll is $10,527. For this journey, gasoline consumption is around 23 gallons for a total average cost of 197,800 Colombian pesos. So if you are going to travel by car from Ibagué to Cartagena, the total transportation cost is $313,600, which would be about $78 USD.

How many tolls are on the route from Neiva to the city of Cartagena

There are 14 tolls from Neiva to the capital Cartagena; 2 tolls in the department of Huila, 2 in Tolima, 1 toll in the department of Cundinamarca, 3 in Santander Colombia, 3 in César, 2 in Magdalena and 1 in Bolívar. The sum of the value of all is 152,600 Colombian pesos for an average price of $10,900 per toll. The time is 19 hours and 46 minutes of travel where you travel a distance of 1200 kilometers. The consumption for my vehicle was 27 gallons of gasoline and a total cost of 232,200 Colombian pesos of fuel. So if you are going to travel by road from Neiva to Cartagena, the total transportation cost is $384,800, which would be about 96 dollars.

How many tolls are there to Cartagena from Santa Marta

For the journey by road from Santa Marta to the city of Cartagena there are 5 tolls; 2 tolls in the department of Magdalena, 2 tolls in the department of Atlántico, and 1 toll in the department of Bolívar. The sum of the value of all is 55,700 Colombian pesos for an average price of $11,140 for each one. The distance is 224 kilometers and the average travel time is 4 hours and 30 minutes. Regarding consumption, you can use 5 gallons of gasoline (remember that my car consumes 45 kilometers per gallon) for a total cost of 43,000 Colombian pesos. So if you are going to travel from Santa Marta to Cartagena de Indias by land, the total transportation cost is $98,700, which would be about $25 USD.

Tolls, distance, and time from Barranquilla to the capital of Bolívar

To get by road from Barranquilla to Cartagena there are 119 kilometers, 2 hours and 16 minutes of travel, and 3 tolls in total; 2 tolls in the department of Atlántico and 1 toll in Bolívar. The sum of all is 33,500 Colombian pesos where the average price per toll is $11,167. Regarding consumption to the city of Cartagena, it is 3 gallons of gasoline for a total cost of 25,800 Colombian pesos. So if you go by car to Cartagena de Indias from Barranquilla, the total transportation cost is $59,300, which would be about 15 dollars.

How many tolls are there from Bucaramanga to La Héroica

If you travel from Bucaramanga to the capital of the department, you will have to travel a distance of 623 kilometers in 12 hours and 9 minutes. This route has 8 tolls in total; 2 tolls in the department of Santander, 3 in César, 2 in Magdalena, and 1 in Bolívar. Thus, if you are going to travel from Bucaramanga to Cartagena by car, the total transportation cost is $194,900 (USD 49).

Tolls from Cúcuta to the municipality of Cartagena

To get to Cartagena by car from Cúcuta you must go through 6 tolls: 3 tolls in the department of César, 2 in Magdalena, and 1 in Bolívar. The sum of the value of all is 55,100 Colombian pesos for an average price of $9,183 per toll. The time of entire trip is 16 hours and 40 minutes from where you travel a distance of 724 kilometers. The consumption is 16 gallons of gasoline for a cost of 137,600 Colombian pesos. So if you are going to travel from Cúcuta to the city of Cartagena by land, the total transportation cost is $192,700, which would be about $48 USD.

The sum of the value of all is 199,500 Colombian pesos for an average price of $10,500 for each one. The distance of the road is 1071 kilometers and the time to travel it is 20 hours and 47 minutes. Gasoline consumption is 24 gallons from Cali for a total cost of 206,400 Colombian pesos. So if you are going to travel from Cali to Cartagena by land, the total transportation cost is $405,900, which would be about 101 dollars.

How many tolls are there from Popayán to the city of Cartagena

To get to Cartagena de Indias traveling from Popayán by private car, you will have to travel a distance of 1,200 kilometers in 23 hours and 21 minutes of walking. For this route you will have to pay 20 tolls in total; 1 toll in the department of Cauca, 4 in Valle del Cauca, 2 Risaralda, 2 tolls in Caldas, 7 tolls in Antioquia, 1 in Córdoba, 2 in Sucre and 1 in the department of Bolívar. The sum of the value of all is 208,400 Colombian pesos where the average price per toll is $10,420. For this journey, gasoline consumption is around 27 gallons for a total average cost of 232,200 Colombian pesos. So if you are going to travel by car from Popayán to the capital of Bolívar, the total cost of transportation is $440,600, which would be about $110 USD.

How many tolls are on the route from Pasto to Cartagena

There are 22 tolls from Pasto to the city of Cartagena; 1 toll in the department of Nariño, 2 in Cauca, 4 in Valle del Cauca, 2 Risaralda, 2 tolls in Caldas, 7 tolls in Antioquia, 1 in Córdoba, 2 in Sucre and 1 in the department of Bolívar. The sum of the value of all is 229,000 Colombian pesos for an average price of $10,409 per toll. The time is 29 hours of travel where you travel a distance of 1450 kilometers. The consumption for my vehicle was 32 gallons of gasoline and a total cost of 275,200 Colombian pesos of fuel. So if you are going to travel by road from Pasto to Cartagena de Indias, the total transportation cost is $504,200, which would be about 126 dollars.
