The ascent to La Piedra del Peñol is not that difficult, there are a total of a little more than 700 stairs, there is a way up and another way down that are not found and you can make stops to rest.

At the top, they find craft sales, ice cream sales, soft drinks, and fruits and there are chairs to rest. There is also a tower which is where people usually take photos because they get a 360-degree view of the dam.

The entrance to the stone has a cost of $18,000, it is open from 8 am to 6 pm. You will also find restaurants, craft sales, and parking lots in case you go by car. If you arrive on foot, it is better to go up the stairs that are behind the gas station.

How to get to Piedra del Peñol?

To get to La Piedra from Guatapé you can take a motochiva from any part of the town and it will take you to La Piedra for $12,000, but if you are traveling alone and want to pay only $2,000 to go there and save the walk, take one of the buses that go to Medellín and get off at the gas station (they have to tell the driver that they only go to the stone), they can be caught one block from the gas station or on the road. Of course, they have to leave standing but it is still 10 minutes no more.
