History

It is said that in the third race the city of Ibagué was born. At first, it was a narrow road, less than six meters wide; formed with earth and stones along its route and was known as Calle del Comercio.

At that time, it connected peasants and merchants with Plaza Bolívar to buy and sell merchandise. In the middle of the years, in addition to being an obligatory path to transport items, military parades, political protests, and funeral marches also began to be held where all these social dynamics revolved around the Third Race.
