La Casa en el Aire is a wooden camp-type hotel house hanging safely at a height of 20 meters above Cerro San Vicente in the department of Antioquia. The capacity of the hostel is 10 people, so you must book your trip in advance, the house has two floors where you can find shared rooms in each one.
In the hostel, you will find a fully equipped kitchen, and bathroom. There are solar panels that provide energy to the house, use them to illuminate the interior spaces and you can also connect your devices to the sockets to charge them.
How to get to The House in the Air?
To get to the La Casa en el Aire hostel from Medellín, you must take a bus from the southern terminal to the municipality of Santa Bárbara; Once they arrive in this municipality they must take a bus that leads to the village of La Peña in Abejorral Antioquia, punctually at the "La 80" store, which is where the guide awaits them. From the path, they must walk 1 kilometer along horseshoe trails until they reach the beginning of a 400-meter flight cable that ends at the base of Cerro San Vicente.
Aero Hostel

How to get to Abejorral
The route you must take to get to the village of La Peña and pass through Abejorral is from the Sonar company, at ticket office 5 of the south terminal of Medellín. The tour lasts 3 hours and costs $18,000. The buses leave every day at 8:30, make sure that the route goes to Abejorral via the Santa Bárbara route.
Hanging hammocks
The main activity they must do on their trip to the house in the air is to watch the sunset mounted from the hammocks in the heights hanging in the open air. They will rest in a hammock suspended in a vacuum at 35 meters high, where they can lie down or sit down to enjoy the scenery. Once they reach the top there is a plan to have a picnic in the heights and then they can rappel 150 meters where they descend a large part of the hill by ropes.
Activities at the hostel
In addition to the hammocks, the trekking to the hill, the picnic, and the rappelling, in the hostel they will be able to jump from the balcony of the house using a hanging pendulum. It is a hanging rope where they secure them with a harness and hang it to the same one where the hammocks are secured and they simply jump into the void. It should be noted that the creator of the hostel is an engineer who loves and is an expert in mountain climbing for more than 10 years. They can also do another type of tourist plan that is not so extreme, such as walking to the caves or Santuario de las Lechuzas.
