How to get to the town?
If you are going to travel by car you can arrive from Medellín, the shortest route you should take is through Las Palmas avenue at the exit of the city, continue to the La Ceja municipality on this road, and then take the La Unión Sonsón route. The distance is 111 km, on the way, there are two tolls with an average value of 11,000 Colombian pesos each (it would be 7 dollars in total) and the average duration of the Medellín Sonsón trip is 2 hours and 55 min. You can also take the route through Rionegro but it takes almost three and a half hours.
If you want to arrive by bus from Medellín, you must do it from the northern terminal of Medellín. They should go to ticket office 17 of the Sotransoda company, which is the only one that goes to town. The ticket to Sonsón has a price of 7,000 Colombian pesos (it would be about 2 dollars), and the transport leaves every half hour from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. By bus, it can take about three and a half hours to get to the center of the municipality.

Morro La Vieja
