How to get to Tequendama Falls, schedules, and prices

The Salto del Tequendama is a natural waterfall formed with the waters of the Bogotá River, located in the municipality of Soacha, 50 minutes from Bogotá in the department of Cundinamarca. To get to Tequendama Falls from Bogotá you must first get to Soacha. One option is to do it by Transmilenio arriving at the San Mateo station after the South Portal. Then on the South Highway, you take a collective bus that says CHARQUITO – SALTO DE TEQUENDAMA. You can also take a minibus from the terminal, the ones in the yellow module to the town of Mesitas and tell the driver that you are going to El Salto, you will recognize it because there is a very old White structure.

The bus option is cheaper than the minibus and its hours are from 8 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon on weekends.

How to get to Tequendama Falls by car from Bogotá?

The Tequendama Falls is 30 kilometers south of Bogotá. To get to the waterfall in the province of San Antonio del Tequendama by car, you must take the southern highway, cross Soacha and turn towards the village of El Charquito and 7 kilometers away is the Casa Blanca Museum. The travel time by car is approximately 50 minutes and you will have to pay the toll for the new jump, which has a fee of 11,100 Colombian pesos (3 dollars).

The ecosystem that surrounds the Tequendama Falls is a forested area with permanent fog and habitat for a great variety of plants and flowers characteristic of the Bogotá savannah. More than 120 species of fauna have been found and one of them is the emblematic spectacled bear.
