Vargas Swamp Lancers Paipa Schedule: Entrance prices and how to get there from Bogotá

Lanceros del Pantano de Vargas is a cultural and historical work that is located 10 km from the urban area of the municipality of La Paipa, Boyacá. The monument is 4 km long, 1.5 km wide and at the end has a 33-meter-high statue with the 14 lancers who accompanied Juan José Rondón to change the course of the battle in favor of the Patriot army in search of the independence of Colombia.

You can visit this tourist attraction any day, from Sunday to Sunday, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The entrance is free but next to the monument, there is a museum to which the entrance has a price of COP 3,000 (less than 1 dollar) and is called Casa Museo del Pantano de Vargas. In its surroundings, there are also restaurants, shops to buy handicrafts, and the parking lot.

You can arrive from Bogotá on a bus from the Salitre terminal, taking a bus or minibus to Paipa for a cost of COP 35,000 (7 dollars).
